AS400 connection from local PC
is there a way to use GOanywhere software and get a file from my local PC (which is connected to the as400) hard drive? Seems there should be a way as I can now issue the FTP command, enter the IP and put/get any files from my local hard drive?

To make this happen with (s)FTP(s) ... you would need that listener working on your Desktop/Laptop with a UserID/Password defined for connection validation from the AS400 to your Local PC.
Another way you could look at this is through a direct connection to your Local PC and executing the RUNRMTCMD (CL Command) and this could make the PC reverse connect back to the AS/400 and provide your transfer.
