yes I have increased this time...but then the same exception after this (longer ) time....
Two things are very strange...
The issue is not repeatable but happens often ....
and
....if you interrupt the long login wait time with the help of browser stop button and then press browser refresh button the login works immediatly. So this is a workaround but unsatisfactory.

the bug is slippery as an eel :-)

Joerg,

How stable is the network connection between GAS and the LDAP server?

I wonder if GAS is sending the information to the LDAP server and some packets are being dropped on the way back causing GAS to miss them and continue waiting for the response which would explain why the timeout makes no difference and trying again is working.

Are you able to get your network team to monitor and see if anything unusual is happening?

I've increased this time parameter and others without access. Only the (Max) time was increased till the login failed.
But if I use the browser stopp button, then refresh -> the login works immediatly.
Mysteriously.
