I’m trying to find out if there’s any way to read in a table from a Microsoft Access database. Using GoAnywhwere.
I chatted online with Duane and found out there's no Access JDBC driver available but was wondering if I could somehow use an ODBC connection set up with an Access driver?
Just don’t want to spin my wheels if it truly cannot be done.
Thanks
Paul

Hey Paul,
You are in luck as you can connect to a Microsoft Access Database using GoAnywhere Director. GoAnywhere uses the very popular JDBC standard for connecting to databases. A JDBC bridge (or access gateway) is available to bridge the gap to your OBDC connection, you just need to track down the one specific to your version of Microsoft Access. Although Director doesn't include the needed driver by default, it is possible to download the driver and use it with our application.
Simply download the driver from the online source of your choosing and install it into our application and follow that with a restart. Then you will be able to easily retrieve the data you need from your Microsoft Access Database.
Please follow the instructions found in this forum post to aid you in placing the downloaded.jar file into the appropriate folder within GoAnywhere. https://forum.goanywhere.com/post163.html#p163

LeSteph,
As Jon pointed out in an earlier post, you can download the JDBC (Gateway) of your choosing. The link he posted How to add JDBC driver to GADirector will explain how to add the driver to GADirector and allow you to utilize it.
This is totally an end-user option to add the driver. We just make it accessible to GADirector.
