I have a Spread sheet where 1st row is the field names. I want to create a temporary file where I can read remaining data into and then copy the data mapping it into an as400 file or read the spreadsheet and insert data into a iSeries file. I am very new to go anywhere and this is the first porject I need to complete.

GoAnywhere has example project templates that will help you create work flows.

When you create a project, click on the browse button (the button with 2 dots at the end of the prompt). Then, pick a project that closely resembles what the job is you need.

In this case, pick the "FTP Get Encrypted Excel to Database". You can remove the Decryption Task and/or the FTP|Get. This leaves you with the ReadExcel and the Connect to DB tasks which will help you do what you need. Just modify to point to your resources and/or file names and you should be good to go.

Please let us know if we can help any further...

I have good news for you then, GoAnywhere Director can translate your data from an excel spreadsheet to an iSeries file. In fact, if you'd like to read more about the different types of formats that GoAnywhere Director can read and write, here is a direct link:

The steps that Support_Rick laid out in his prior post would work nicely for your request.
