Using Public/Private Key created in different PGP

Post by Melbek »

We were using ArticSoft PGP previously and we would like to convert to Go Anywhere PGP, so my question is, is that possible to use Public/Private Key created by ArticSoft PGP so we don't have to distribute our public key to the client again.

Thanks

If ArticSoft allows you to export your Public/Private keys, you should be able to import them directly into GoAnywhere PGP by utilizing the "Import Keys" function under the OpenPGP Keys tab. This should load the current keys you are using and allow you to use them for Encrypting/Decrypting.

Not sure why it is asking me to enter a Private key password for Decrypting, the previous software wasn't asking that. just wondering if i can do anything.

Thanks

What kind of key (format) was the existing one created in?

Please confirm that when you exported the keys from your existing software that you got the full key pair (public & private) and not just one of them.

Thanks - Jon
