Windows install connecting to Unix box Network Share.

Post by MDeVore »

We're trying to setup a network share to a unix machine. I'm getting the impression that we have an authentication issue somewhere, but I thought I would mention what we're seeing here in case anyone had any other input.

Through any other software, filezilla for example. I can connect to the host with the username and password and see all of the paths that should show up.

When doing it from GA as a network share resource. If I leave the share name empty, I'm getting
Successfully connected.
2/11/13 4:30:07 PM Listing the contents of the share (up to 5 of 1)
2/11/13 4:30:07 PM IPC$/

If I add in the paths that should be there I'm getting.
2/11/13 4:33:28 PM Successfully connected.
2/11/13 4:33:37 PM The network name cannot be found.

I'm a little vague on the IPC$/ so I'm not completely sure what this is telling me. It seems the machine GA is on can't see the directories to me. Any input?

MDeVore,

Please make sure your Network share is setup properly on the Unix box and make sure you have the SAMBA and Unix Passwords Sync'd. Once this happens, you should see all available folders for the connection.
